Round 10 of the Scottish EDGE competition is taking place on the 22nd of June 2017!
Scottish EDGE is delighted to announce that tickets for the final of Round 10 of the competition are now available. Taking place on Thursday, 22nd June, 2017 at the Royal Bank of Scotland's Gogarburn Conference Centre, the Round 10 Final will support Scotland's most innovative, high-growth potential startup businesses with up to £100,000 in cash and an all-encompassing business support package.
Having completed eight successful rounds, Scottish EDGE - which is supported by the Royal Bank of Scotland, the Hunter Foundation, and the Scottish Government - has had an unquestionable impact on the Scottish economy. Our winners have, to date, created an additional 818 Scottish jobs, generated an additional £45.06 million in turnover, and received additional investment to the sum of £44.12 million. In the last round of Scottish EDGE, cash prizes of£1.3 million were shared amongst forty winners across four different categories.
The exciting and fun final is split in two, with a day-time pitching event, and an evening awards ceremony. The daytime event offers the chance to watch this year's Scottish EDGE finalists pitch for up to £150,000 in front of an expert panel of judges, to be announced in late May 2017. For the six hundred expected attendees, the event also offers the opportunity to meet and learn from a variety of Scottish businesses and entrepreneurial support organisations.
At the evening awards ceremony, the winners of the day's Scottish EDGE pitching rounds will be announced, and there will be an unveiling of the prizes across the other three categories - Young EDGE, Wildcard EDGE, and Higgs EDGE - the winners of which will be revealed in advance of the final.
The event will also include keynotes from high profile guest speakers which, in the past, have included Duncan Logan of RocketSpace, BrewDog founder James Watt, and around the world cyclist Mark Beaumont. For Round 10, we are delighted to welcome Steve Dunlop, Chief Executive of Scottish Canals. Since joining the organisation a decade ago, Steve has guided Scottish Canals to make an increasingly significant contribution to Scotland's economy, not least in the form of The Helix project. The £43m development has transformed 350 hectares of under-used land on the eastern end of the Forth & Clyde Canal near Grangemouth into a vibrant new parkland, canal hub and world-class visitor attraction featuring the biggest pair of equine sculptures on the planet - The Kelpies.
Book your place now and find out who will successfully pitch their way to essential business support. All for free.
