Final winners for John Mather Trust competition announced!

The final stage of John Mather Trust competition had finally arrived with 25 entrants having submitted their business plans and video pitches. The judges met in mid-June to review all ideas and decide on the winners. Remember that was for a chance to win a share of £20k for their business idea, which is a great push for positive action!

The judges definitely had a difficult time selecting the winners with such a high standard of applications! There were some brilliant ideas submitted and all students added great effort in the pitches too!

The final results fond 9 winners sharing the £20k.Businesses had big variety with different industry backgrounds, from jewellery to a modular 3D printer. See all winners below:

On June 30th, some of the winners joined us at the awards event, where two of the judges presented the awards:

Big congratulations to the winners but also generally to all entrants from stage 1and 2 of the competition! Also many thanks to the judges - Steven Hamill, Janice Cuningham, Shaf Rasul, Margaret Gibson, Lisa Hamilton.

Along with the great news from the competition, there were news announced about the start of the College's own Enterprise Incubator space! This will host interested current/ past winners of the John Mather Trust competition as well as other students that want to become entrepreneurial and turn their idea into a business!
