Who was your biggest hero when you were younger?
My Uncle Sandy for sure! He didn’t care what anyone thought of him and he followed his heart at all times
What is the best thing about being your own boss?
I enjoy the flexibility it offers and I enjoy being in control of where the business goes… and who goes there with it!
Can you tell us about the first £10 you ever made?
I had a horse when I lived at home in the Black Isle and I used to sell the manure for neighbours gardens!
What has been the biggest challenge so far with your business?
Definitely finding the right team to accompany me on the business journey I have planned out. Trust is especially important and unfortunately I’ve learned hard lessons there.. not everyone who smiles at you is your friend!
Who is it that keeps you going through any tough times?
I always take time to think back to why I started my business in the first place and what motivated me to take that step. When I see the team happy and performing well, along with happy clients that also really keeps me going
What is the one thing you are most proud of?
Being so far unbeaten as franchisee of the year
Favourite quote or mantra that you use?
Always keep your heels, your head and your standards high!
Where do you see your business in five years time?
Managing in excess of 1000 properties (and hopefully me taking a lot more time off)!!
If you could give your ‘teenage self’ one piece of advice, what would it be?
Stick it out Chica, you absolutely CAN do anything you want to, you will not be this awkward and shy forever – oh and GHD hair straighteners are on the way - they will change your life! ïŠ
If you could have one person in your business contact list who would that be and why?
This is hard! If it can be a fictional character then Elle Woods from Legally Blonde…we have a LOT in common, both on a business and a personal level
