Who was your biggest hero when you were younger?
My grandad as he spent hours checking that his desktop calculator worked correctly. 2+2x2 can be 6 or 8 but which is correct?
What initially attracted you to enterprise?
I had always seen a computer as something to solve a problem with rather than a device to play games on. I love numbers and getting to the bottom of a problem so computers in business made sense and whilst I do not like them I like how they can improve our business lives when used properly.
Can you tell us about the first £10 you ever made?
Outside my many paper rounds, I developed a graphics programming library for the Commodore 64 that made writing games easier for my friends.
What has been your biggest challenge so far with your business?
Getting businesses to recognise the value of some impartial advice on what they can do with computing so that they will pay for it when they can get it free from other routes. As I am not selling anything, I have no interest in the services proposed as I get no income from that, I am getting there though.
Who is it that keeps you going through any tough times?
This is a combination of my wife and squash. The squash focuses the mind and keeps me fit whilst my wife keeps me straight with her sensible suggestions though some are silly but very valid.
What is it that gets you out of bed in the morning?
No problem getting me out of bed, i love my job working with people and inspiring them to engage with technology properly within their business.
How do you define success?
Seeing customers that I have worked with working smarter, efficiently, growing and coming back to me for more advice.
Where do you see your business in 5 years' time?
I hope to have invested and developed new products and services whilst employing people as currently I work on my own.
If you could give your 'teenage self' one piece of advice, what would it be?
Be patient as you can't fix everything now and listen.
If you could have any one person on your business contact list, who would that person be and why?
Chris Evans as he has a fantastic sense of humour, a great sense of doing the right thing and is now going to present Top Gear!
