Who was your biggest hero when you were younger?
Arnold Schwarzenegger! He still is! He once said, ‘don’t listen to nay sayers’ and that has really stuck with me.
What attracted you to running your own business?
I didn’t take too well to being managed! I felt stifled. I just wanted to be in control of making my own decisions.
What is it that gets you out of bed in the morning?
I just love it! I don’t need to think about it now- I love the people that I work with! As much as it can be lonely running your own business sometimes, you establish real relationships with your clients, and we can talk to each other.
How do you define success?
LEARNING- The day you stop learning is the day you should quit!
HAPPINESS- Although it can still be difficult at times, it’s peaks and troughs, so I appreciate the good times when they’re good!
CONFIDENCE- Having the confidence to say ‘I don’t know.’ I was scared to say this at the beginning, but now I know it is okay to not know everything!
If you could give your ‘teenage self’ one piece of advice, what would it be?
Don’t care what anybody else thinks! Stand up for yourself… Just live!
Surround yourself with like-minded people too.
If you could have any one person on your business contact list, who would that person be, and why?
Again, it has to be Arnie! He’s inspirational, successful and positive- he didn’t let any put him down. He knew what he wanted and he went out and got it!
