Ian is Managing Director of the Precious Metals Workshop Limited. He studied 3-dimensional design at the university of Northumbria in Newcastle. Afterward becoming a self employed jeweler before launching his current business.

Who was your biggest hero when you were younger?
My hero was Dali Lama.
What initially attracted you to enterprise?
Chamber of Commerce advice when formerly being a PSYBT client.
Wanting to give back to the cause for being an aftercare advisor and mentor.
Can you tell us about the first £10 you ever made?
Washing mum and dads car when I was 7?
What has been your biggest challenge so far with your business?
Self motivation is the key that makes and breaks what I do.
Who is it that keeps you going through any tough times?
My dog Koru :-)
What is it that gets you out of your bed in the morning?
Ha ha, my dog Koru!
How do you define success?
Where courage is an accumulation of small steps, success is an accumulation of courageous ones. For, with persistent will and stubborn determination, there is no step too small.
Where do you see your business in 5 years’ time?
I the heart of the city centre, Scotland's capital, with international recognition for facilitating resources and education for jewellery and silversmithing.
If you could give your “teenage self” one piece of advice, what would it be?
Smoke less and participate more.
If you could have any 1 person on your business contact list who would that person be and why?
Richard Branson, so I could swap courses for a seat on Virgin Galactic.
