What inspired you to bake?
For my niece’s birth I wanted to bake baby cupcakes and from there I was inspired to continue with baking and looked to enhance my skill set.
What initially attracted you to enterprise?
I've always wanted to work for myself since a child and really just wanted a shop to call my own.
Can you tell us about the first £10 you ever made?
Around Valentines day 2013 I first started selling boxes of cupcakes. I used social media to advertise and it worked really well.
What has been your biggest challenge so far with your business?
Getting the lease signed for the shop. It was so time consuming, taking 3 months in total.
Who is it that keeps you going through any tough times?
My partner is very supportive. We are trying to build a future together.
What is it that gets you out of your bed in the morning?
The fact I know I have 300 cupcakes to decorate before 10 am.
How do you define success?
Seeing people enjoy their cakes and returning to the shopâ€¦ empty shelves at the end of the day.
Where do you see your business in 5 years’ time?
The original shop being a great success hopefully and maybe a second shop in Musselburgh perhaps.
If you could give your “teenage self” one piece of advice, what would it be?
Don't change who you are! It's all worked out ok so far.
If you could have any 1 person on your business contact list who would that person be and why?
Richard Branson. I think someone like him would have lots of useful connections.
