Alison Rodgers

Programme Executive - West College Scotland

As Programme Executive for West of Scotland, Alison's aim is to inspire and empower students to develop their own business ideas whilst helping them face their 'fear of failure' on the path to self discovery.

Having always known she wanted to run her own business by the age of 10, on graduating from Art School, Alison worked as a Project Manager on Scottish Government regeneration projects across Scotland, developing social enterprises and finding new uses for the high street.

With a degree in illustration and a fascination for urban art, Alison started her own Set Design business called Frill Factory (inspired by Singer Sewing Factory) which upcycles furniture for hire and works with charities to repurpose fabrics which would otherwise be sent to landfill. As a social enterprise Frill Factory has a core aim to build a young person workforce and is building a framework to help implement creative confidence into Scottish curriculum.

In her spare time you can spot Alison travelling around Scotland with her dog Leah whilst exploring derelict areas within West Dunbartonshire, helping to creatively regenerate these areas full of rich cultural heritage through her charity urban docks.
