YES Stalwart wins Inspiring City Corporate Social Responsibility Award
Being a Business Graduate, I still remember coming out of lectures with the noise of Professors still ringing in my ears. One phrase that stuck - Corporate Social Responsibility - was pretty new to many people in the late 1990’s. In the 2000’s, young professionals heard plenty more about it in their early career, but did we really get involved?
Then I met with Stuart MacDonald, Founder of Seric Systems. Stuart sits on the Board of Directors for Young Enterprise Scotland, is a Local Hero, Start Up Activist, STEM Guru, and original cast member of the Strategic team responsible for setting up the Bridge 2 Business Programme. You can imagine at this point I really witnessed and understood what Corporate Social Responsibility was... and Stuart might hopefully agree with me here... to him it’s called being human.
CSR is built into his Company’s DNA, and not a day goes by when they don’t think about the impact every aspect of the work they do is having on the people, community and environment within which they operate. I’ve seen Stuart at close quarters, and witness what that actually looks like, and it’s no surprise that Seric Systems, the company that he helped build up, has been given the Corporate Social Responsibility gong at The Herald and Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Inspiring City 2016 Awards.
And if you want to see what they won - check out the video below.
Congratulations to Stuart and all the team at Seric Systems - loving your work!!!
