Our collaboration with Future X has seen a series of Impact Summit Fringe events across colleges in Scotland, in the run up to theImpact Summit on the 15th May at SWG3 in Glasgow.
Today at New College Lanarkshire, we hosted our inspiring and impactful fringe event at the college's Coatbridge campus.
The event seen student's from across the college be inspired into making a difference through business.
With an incredible line up of speakers, from a variety of social enterprises, the students learnt about different businesses currently making an impact!
Firstly, we welcomed Callum Mckinnon Of BOunceT. Callum shared the process of setting up and sustaining a social enterprise. With many successful funding applications under his belt, Callum shared how he secured investment to support his impactful business, but also how he sustains without funding support.
Our second speaker Angela Beardsley FRSA founder of The Happy Festival and Resonate Together. Angela spoke of her life journey from the age of six, and how it shaped her into the person she is today, and taking those experiences to run her social enterprises over in Clackmannanshire.
Finally, our last social entrepreneur guest speaker was from fashion social enterprise - The Blankfaces. Founder Gerard McKenzie-Govern, shared that his business is the UK's first fashion label, aimed at ending homelessness. Each of The Blackfaces designs are inspired or created by a homeless person, this inspiration then forms the backbone of their range.
Students also heard from Princes Trust, and Lanarkshire Social Enterprise Partnership!
