Inspiring the next generation at City of Glasgow College
The Bridge 2 Business programme was launched in September 2013 by the Cabinet Secretary for Education & Lifelong Learning and is having a huge impact at the City of Glasgow College. Bridge 2 Business was launched in response to the Carnegie UK Foundation report “Enterprising Minds†and has been developed to “Inspire, Connect and Support†students into business.
The programme has engaged with college staff and students through the placement of young entrepreneurs in the class to share their experiences. The programme has also given small grants to students to test their ideas in group or individual scenarios. One of the key elements of Bridge 2 Business is providing engaging Meet-Ups. After College hours these are where inspiring young entrepreneurs tell their tale to the gathering over some sparkling drinks and sushi!
The latest in the series and the biggest to date saw the combined wisdom of four young entrepreneurs being laid bare before the eager assembly of students and staff.
Cally Russell of Mallzee shared his growth journey and insight from his early days prior to Mallzee and his inspiration. As Cally says “It is vital to get involved and give back through sharing experiences. Learning from my peers during my journey has been so vital to meâ€
Pictured alongside Cally are Hamish Robertson of Clipigo and Craig Johnstone of Giglets who made up the panel during a question and answer session at the event alongside Juliane Grasekamp of Snuggle Muffin.
