Two photography students at City of Glasgow College have created this year's Christmas card for Young Enterprise Scotland (YES).

Alanis Blades and Douglas Ritchie, third year BA degree students, won a competition run in partnership between the college and YES, to design the card.

The card was unveiled at the Scotland Can Do Celebration of Youth Enterprise which the pair attended together with lecturer Mark Dunlop.

Reading the brief, pitching the idea, and developing the finished product, Alanis and Douglas understood exactly what we were looking to create for our Christmas Card this year.

Their final design really captures the spirit of Young Enterprise Scotland, with a very seasonal theme. It was great to seethe overall quality of ideas, the presentations and the technical abilities from all of the students who participated."

Brian McEwan, Young Enterprise Scotland

I was delighted when Young Enterprise Scotland invited students to produce a creative response to their brief for a Christmas card. Many of our BA photography students got involved in designing and pitching concepts, and the two winning students have benefitted from a truly authentic commercial experience."

Mark Dunlop, City of Glasgow College lecturer

Working on the YES Christmas card has been a new and very creative process which has also been a very rewarding and valuable experience for me as a photographer.

Alanis Blades - Student

It has shaped how I work with others and how I present myself as a professional in my field. I'm excited to take the skills I have learned from this project in to my photographic career and beyond.
